Gentlemen:

 

After a rocky start the weather became tolerable except for the  gale force wind.  Course conditions were decent tee to green, so not a bad outing overall.  We had some pretty good scores today in tough conditions:  Mark C (72), Kurt T (76), RB (77) and Bruce B (78).  We also had some stout postings:  Mark C (+8), Pat L (+7+ and Al Ash (+6).  Good shooting on a tough day.

First place was the threesome of Gary M, Pat L and Al A.  They killed it and didn't even the the Blind Draw A player but cruised at +19!  Great posting by all three guys!

 

As for the rest, I screwed up...I neglected to input the scores for Team Cook's blind draws.  The scores from their picks put them at +9.  I paid Team Bales second place at +8, and paid Team RB third at -3.  So, instead of making folks give back money etc., I will pay Mark C and Rich G from the Hole-in One fund.  Their share is $39 each ($98 minus $5 divided by 2 is $44 each.   See me next week and I'll pay you both.  The Hole in One fund is pretty healthy so it won't hurt us.  I apologize for the mistake.  I understand we don't play for big money but it should be right. 

 

While we are on the subject of Blind Draws, this needs to be mentioned: unless there is an emergency or injury, leaving before play has been completed will not be tolerated.  Mark and Rich played their heart out today as a twosome and probably would have carried their "natural" team into the money without having to pick TWO blind draws.  This did not have to be.  The rain was gone in less than 30 minutes.  It was not their fault their partners were unprepared for the weather (was that the excuse?).  

 

At least the skins were correct as only four held up:  Mark C on #1, Bruce on #10, Me on #12 and Kurt on #13.  Skins paid #16 each.

 

Next week we take on the always challenging River Hills.  First tee time is 9:24, double tee at $54.
